Privacy Policy

Argot (“Argot”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent app operated by its developer, based in the United Arab Emirates. This policy explains how Argot handles information.

The short version: Argot does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data.

What we collect

Nothing personal. Argot has no account, no login, and no analytics or tracking. We do not operate a server that receives information about you, and the app contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking software.

Information stored on your device

To make the app work, Argot saves your preferences locally on your device (in a shared container so the widgets can read them): your chosen track(s), saved favourites, terms you have marked as learned, the recent-terms history shown in the “Recent” list, your cadence preference, and your subscription status. This information never leaves your device (except within your own device or iCloud backups, which we cannot access). You can erase it at any time from Settings → Library, or by deleting the app.

Purchases

Argot Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. All payment, billing, and subscription management is handled by Apple. We never see or receive your payment details. Apple provides the app only with confirmation that a purchase or subscription is active, so it can unlock Pro features. Apple’s handling of payment data is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

Links to other services

The app can open external links (our website and a support email). Those destinations have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Children

Argot is intended for a professional, adult audience. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar)

Because we do not collect personal data, we hold nothing to access, correct, export, or delete. Your locally-stored preferences are under your control on your device.

Changes to this policy

If we ever introduce a feature that collects data (for example, optional usage analytics), we will update this policy and the App Store privacy details before that feature is released, and seek consent where required.
